Volume Pendant

The Volume Pendant captures the predictable and unpredictable nature of glass, as it responds to touch, breath and time. Held within the sphere are two separate pockets of air that capture the light. The effect creates a mirrored illusion, repeating the illumination within the form. Each pendant is created in Alison Berger’s Los Angeles atelier, annealed for several days, and finished individually by hand.

The crystal in all of the Alison Berger Glassworks collection is hand blown. The process itself uses no molds or form constraints to shape the piece. Each fixture is a unique piece of functional art. The material qualities of this process will sometimes result in small air bubbles and actual tool marks, which are desirable evidence of the artisanal process.
