Pulley Pendant

The Pulley Pendant is a modern interpretation of a timeless object, realized in hand-blown glass and hand-formed crystal weights. Bronze wheels and cable create a functional pulley system that allows for adjustments in the pendant’s height, as well as changes in the optical distortion of light as it filters through the solid crystal weight. This pendant, like all of Alison Berger’s designs, is blown in her Los Angeles atelier and annealed for several days before being finished by hand. Each is truly one of a kind.

The crystal in all of the Alison Berger Glassworks collection is hand blown. The process itself uses no molds or form constraints to shape the piece. Each fixture is a unique piece of functional art. The material qualities of this process will sometimes result in small air bubbles and actual tool marks, which are desirable evidence of the artisanal process.
