Crescent Sconce
shown in tarnished nickel patina
Product Description
The Crescent Sconce was inspired by the illusions created by the new moon. The hand-blown crystal hemisphere’s full form is seen when viewed from the front, but it appears simply as an edge of light when viewed from the side. This sconce, like all of Alison Berger’s designs, is blown in her Los Angeles atelier and annealed for several days before being finished by hand. Each is truly one of a kind.
The crystal in all of the Alison Berger Glassworks collection is hand blown. The process itself uses no molds or form constraints to shape the piece. Each fixture is a unique piece of functional art. The material qualities of this process will sometimes result in small air bubbles and actual tool marks, which are desirable evidence of the artisanal process.
